If you run more than one project then it could just be the other projects share, if you only run Rosetta there may be a problem.

A quick look an you do only run rosetta@home so..

I can contact the server and there are 20,000 task in the queue.

Note it is the Holidays, so they may not be back like most universities till the new year.
See if it clears itself and try the Retry Communication in the menubar.

If you are seeing a message like this in your BOINC Manager's messages tab:

12/26/2006 3:37:49 PM|rosetta@home|Sending scheduler request to https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta_cgi/cgi
12/26/2006 3:37:49 PM|rosetta@home|Reason: Requested by user
12/26/2006 3:37:49 PM|rosetta@home|(not requesting new work or reporting completed tasks)
12/26/2006 3:37:54 PM|rosetta@home|Scheduler request succeeded

...then it means BOINC has decided it needs to make up some time to the other projects you are running. If you want to crunch Rosetta more frequently, you can adjust the resource share you give to it in your Rosetta preferences. You can view your current resource shares in the Projects tab of the BOINC Manager.

Here is a more detailed explaination.

Weird. All my projects (5) are at 20% each and have been running for 6 months to years (seti). Anything else I can do to shake things up? Quit the rosetta project and add back again? Any way to force a download? "Update" doesn't do anything.

RTFM!! OK, I read the "detailed explaination" and won't fret for a few more days. :)

You may want to change your email address at all the projects to the same one, then your stats will be combined (will not effect boinc crunching at all)

But looking under you name and team you only run rosetta
http://www.boincstats.com/search/all_projects.php?cpid=23f001023a29422ba7f702773188e866

Hence my assumption ;-)

Yes, if you suspend one of the other projects, it tends to force Rosetta to download work. But once you release it again, BOINC is going to choose to crunch on the other projects. This is why it isn't requesting work for Rosetta right now.

It could also be that BOINC predicts one of your other projects is going to miss a deadline. So, it goes to "earliest deadline first" mode and won't pull more work until things come in to balance again (by completing the work that was approaching a deadline, or by having the estimated time to completion recalculate to be more easily obtainable.
