I left this project for 1 week to do some climateprediction.net work and when I tried to come back today I cant seem to download anything. It says Sat May 30 23:24:44 2009 rosetta@home [error] File minirosetta_database_rev29627.zip has wrong size: expected 19507648, got 19508202 or Sat May 30 23:19:21 2009 rosetta@home [error] File minirosetta_1.71_i686-apple-darwin has wrong size: expected 33374984, got 33380766 I tried to reset the project and tried to detach and then reattach but neither worked. What should I do here? Thanks!!! |

Ok it just randomly started working so not sure what that is about since I haven't done anything since I started this thread. Also since I dont need any help anymore if a mod wants to delete this go right ahead. |

If someone else has a similar error in future and does a search they will see that it can correct itself on its own. :) |

Believe it or not, internet networks are considered "unreliable". Down in the details there really are not good delivery guarentees available. Applications such as BOINC have to devise their own solutions to overcome the limitations. You apparently had a network hic-cup and missed a portion of the download. This was detected, and BOINC will recover itself (probably by reporting download failures on a couple of tasks) eventually. But the reset forced it to download everything again and this time it apparently went better. Or, perhaps in a scheduler request after the reset and initial downloads it recovered on it's own as I described first. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |
