If my processor makes an error (due to being overclocked) while crunching a workunit, where would I see it? Would the report come from my BOINC client or the task list in my profile? I want to know because if my processor is making mistakes, I'll downclock it. |

If my processor makes an error (due to being overclocked) while crunching a workunit, where would I see it? The tasks might error: you'll see their exit status if you go Participants > Your Computers > Results, and then hit Task ID to see the error status, but they might still validate even though they weren't correct. The easiest and safest way to check your computer is still running correctly is to run Prime95 in Torture mode using both of the first two options for a few hours: See step 3 here (notice 64-bit version): http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/ |
